Hello,
Ability to export to an universal format and read it across any supported DCC is great, but for now it is useless because we can't see orbx geometry inside 3ds max.
It means we cant prepare assets in other DCC (Maya, blender, C4D) and combine it into 3Ds Max for rendering.
Actually this feature is the most important reason why I've decided to switch back to Octane but now I can't use it without viewport geometry preview(For example octane proxy's geometry can be seen it viewport buy seems like Octane for maya can't export proxies, just orbx.)
Can we expect a geometry preview checkbox for orbx(just like proxy has) inside 3ds max?
Thanks,
Pavel
ORBX proxy preview mesh inside 3ds Max
We' ve built a complete ORBX scene (not proxy) importer in the UE4 plug-in. It converts everything in an ORBX to to UE4 native scene, mesh, texture and materials/shaders. This is a feature we want in all plug-ins, including Max, but it takes time as each developer needs to do this differently. We are working on some approaches that could make this happen faster. More details in our GTC 2020 roadmap slides this week.
Wow, sounds great. Thank you for reply!Goldorak wrote:We' ve built a complete ORBX scene (not proxy) importer in the UE4 plug-in.
