I ask you, I spent 5 hours and it didn’t work out for me, that's why there are no converters from other renders under the octane
I was able to repeat most of it but got stuck on standard functions and all the material is not the same anymore, it is different
add functions! make us comfortable

I know a ton of work goes into making Octane and I really, really appreciate it but I do agree with you on this one. If we want a solid ecosystem I think it is really handy when you adhere to certain "industry standards". At least to an extent - supporting the mix curves and all that. Having the ability to at least somewhat properly convert materials from other renderers also comes really handy because then it's a lot easier to work with assets that you get online. Easier access to assets = more content.
So yeah, with all due respect, +1
Plus, that bicycle image... Haha!

Hi, yes very nice tests and comparison, fully agree there has to be better ways than mixing and mixing and mixing materials all the time.

100% agreed and this is good to the top of the priority and feature list once 2020 stable is done
Thank you for keeping us in the loop! It is much appreciated and I'm excited to see how you and the team will approach itGoldorak wrote:100% agreed and this is good to the top of the priority and feature list once 2020 stable is done
