Adding an integrated version of LiveDB is in the planning.
Currently there is only a workaround.
- Create a new octane material in unreal and open it in unreal
- Open the OctaneGUI and go to the graph node that contains the material
- Open LiveDB in the OctaneGUI and add the material you want, and drag it into the material graph node
Things to note:
- If you want to edit the materail in unreal, and you do not see the newly created LiveDB nodes, you can close and open the unreal octane material editor.
- Resources (mainly textures) used by the LiveDB will not be stored in the unreal project, but in a cache folder octane maintains. This means that the material cannot be shared across multiple computers unless those computers have the same LiveDB textures.
