Hello, sorry for my english, I have Houdini 17.5 with octane render, when my computer is render apears this message and houdini crash.
6156: Fatal error: Segmentation fault
Saving application data to C:/Users/SIXPRO~1/AppData/Local/Temp/houdini_temp/crash.Nebula2.SixProdRENDER_6156.hiplc
Sometimes not apears this message but houdini crash too.
I have 3 RTX2080Ti , in cinema4d octane works fine, i suppose my gpu is not a problem, but maybe i will configurate something...
When i start render again some frames can export, but always houdini crash.
I cant update to houdini 18 because my licence of octane is the V4.
Thanks.

Hi,
Are you working with the same Houdini and Octane plugin builds? The Octane plugin version must match the Houdini version to avoid problems. In any case, could be great to have here one of your scenes to try to reproduce the problem here.
The Octane log file that you get after one of these crashes also could help. You can enable the Octane log in the plugin options panel.
Thanks,
-Juanjo

Here your scene works fine, although probably I don't have all the scene assets here.
I think that the problem can be that in fact, you are not using the right Houdini version for the 4.05 available plugins. You are working with Houdini 17.5.425, but the latest Houdini version supported by Octane 4.05 is Houdini 17.5.327. Due to the changes in the Houdini internals, the crash can come from using a not supported Houdini version. You should try to work with the same Houdini and Octane plugin versions or at least a Houdini version as near as possible to the available Octane plugin builds.
If you can reproduce this problem while working with the same Houdini and Octane plugin versions, please let me know to further investigate it.
Thanks,
-Juanjo

All the Houdini builds are available in the SideFX download page, but if the Houdini version that you need to your Octane plugin is not listed there, you are going to need to write SideFX asking for the download link. Be aware that the Octane 4.05 plugins are not going to be updated to support H18.0 or the latest H17.5 production builds.
Of course, you could update your Octane license to use the latest Octane 2019.1 or the upcoming Octane 2020.1 plugin builds, that are fully supported with versions for the latest Houdini production builds
Thanks,
-Juanjo
