Hi,

it seems, the Displacement Map doesn´t support the Triplanar Projection. So I have hard edges/seams on the edges of my objects.
How can I simulate/copy the Triplanar Fuction for my Displacement in Octane ?

Thanks in advance

You will usually get a better response if you share a specific example of what you are trying to do, with supporting screen grabs or scene files. Share the results of your troubleshooting that lead you to the point of asking your question in the forums. Explain what you have tried, what you expected, and the actual results, along with whatever details you think might be significant.

With that information as a starting point, you'll probably get some useful feedback.

Hi frankmci,

thanks for your answer.

Oddly enough, the triplanar projection does not seem to work with the displacement. For clarification, I hung a few screenshots and the project file to the mail.
First example (first free pictures): Displacement without Triplanar = works!
Second example (last three pictures): Displacement with Triplanar = does not work (no displacement).
I use the 2019_1_2er versions (Standalone and C4D), had this phenomenon already in the versions before.
The projection is also set on Triplanar.

Ok, I think I see the problem. You are using the legacy Texture Displacement, which is still available for backward compatibility, but which has all sorts of limitations. Try switching to Vertex Displacement in the Displacement node, with Map Type set to Height. It is much more powerful and flexible.
