I have a base material concrete and a wetmap (.png) sequence from Realflow. All that works. And I can convert the .png to any other type of file format if needed.

What should I use—a mix material or layer material? Or can someone lay the final steps out for me?

I've been pulling my hair out trying to get one of these new material types to work.

Thanks.

Octane 2019.1.1 and C4D R21.

Nevermind, after trying to create some complex material with the wetmap embedded, I made a new material, put the wetmap in the opacity channel, and placed it ahead of the base material and it worked.

Okay, the two material method wouldn't animate the opacity. So here is a method that works for me.

Best way I've found is to create a layered material, convert the main material to a sub material and connect it to the base material layer.

Then add another material layer and an image texture. Make your wetmap the shader material and connect it to the layer opacity, and connect that to layer 1 in the layered material.

I've attached an image.

Sure thing. Figured this might help someone get down the road quicker than having to work it out on their own.

Next I'll try to figure how to make the wetmap look wavy, like the water is affecting it. But that'll have to wait until next neek.
