maybe it could be useful to hide the wiring in the graph editor. for me at least it would be ;)

i've setup some compex graphs as sort of templates and use them to get fast into rendering after importing an .obj - basically i just connect several dozen material pins to the newly imported mesh(es), but every 2nd click i mistakenly just disconnect another node, because there are a zillion wires all over (and then have to find out what was disconnected, which isn't easy because of all that wiring copse).

In "hidden mode" a wire could just be visible as long as it is dragged (so the made connection will be visible) and hide as soon as the connection was made (e.g. the connected pin changes from full to outlined).

i also use the graph editor in favor of the outliner to select materials or master values (e.g. to change textures or settings), because it is much handier and quicker to reach a specific node there; and -of course- have the same problem to find a pixel where a node is not already covered by wires ;)
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply
