Hi everyone.
I've been looking around how to simulate a video-projector on Octane for Max, and found no "clean" solution...
So I found a way to make a "video-projector" that can be turned around on all directions.
I use to record french tutorials about 3D and Motion Design, and this one is my very first English tutorial... so, I hope everyone will understand me.
+Update June 5 2019 :
- Octane Texture Light Projection (video-projection) on 3DS MAX - English - Rev.2 -
English tutorial version with all you need to understand how to do a texture projector : https://youtu.be/WDEcG1EBbVU
I hope it helps.

Thank you Paride, but the fact is that the Perspective Projection doesn't work the same way on 3DSMax and C4D...
(I use both Octane for 3dsMax and C4D.)
So, on 3DS, I'm using a 3D transform inside a "XYZ to UVW" for the projection . The last step is to rotate the transformation on X about -90°.
Using a small Octane planarLight is also really faster than an emission texture on a plane , and gives far less hotspots.

Hi cmatias, but your projection is spherical... (?)

Hello cmatias,
I'm not skilled using C4D, in 3dsMax it works fine.

Hi, Paride, just try to rotate your plane emitter...

Hi Paride.
You're right ! I did a double mistake !
I was projecting on the inside of a cylinder, and the projected picture has no precise right and left border... so I didn't see my mistake:

Same projection with hard picture borders - we can see the vertical sides are a little curved :

And now a scene with a correct projection :

And the 3DS Max 2020 / Octane 4 scene file is attached to this post

Thanks cmatias , could you make 2017 instead of 2020 ( I personnaly use 2019 )
