If your Maya scene contains shape nodes by the same name,
even nested within nodes of unique names,
In the attributes editor
Octane will only show and update the values in its attributes section from the first node.
Even when you select the second node with a duplicate name, the values displayed are from the other node.
Can you replicate this?
Maya Plugin Bug

I confirm, I could reproduce the bug, but not exactly what you describe :
- It needs 2 meshes with same transform's name and same name shape's name
- then changing "animator data" for one shape throw an error :
and brakes attribute editor refresh.
But anyway this UI widget is more or less broken since it has been added ...
Will do proper report in release section, thanks.
