Im trying to use blender smoke+fire, and I have 4 video cards, with my gtx 750 not checked for render, just want to dedicate to viewport. But when using only volumes, blender fire + smoke, when Im previewing render its very laggy and hard to work.

i attached the log file, dont know if anything has to do with it.

Also.. when I make changes, the preview doesnt update unless I got back to mesh mode, and back to preview, hard to preview.

Also the octane imager does the same thing, does not update post processing and imager settings unless i check on and off stuff.

also taking volume step length all the way down crashes the server.

Which Octane 4 version are you using?

My advice is to download and install the latest one, many issues have been fixed:

Also consider using the 2018 version:

Decreasing step length value introduces lag as there in more information to process for Octane.

If imager doesn't update you may disable motion blur. Someone she it is enabled it may cause such behaviour.
