Hi Juanjo,

i have here a Scene for you for testing.

The Scene chrashed with full scene reload if you press F10 under Octane.
in LW Native the scene would be render with F 10 without problems.

Do you have any idea? :)

Thank you :)

Hi juanjo,

ok its not a bug or so. you must cache the open VDB Sequence with the open VDB saver node and embedded that node in the volume grid set up. than octane can render it! :)

@ juanjo,

so ich check the scene with all options. you can render the scene only with Octane if you use the octane volumetrics feature with the SDF feature.
but than the rendertime goes 10x up (from 4 sec to 30 sec per frame) and the dirt shader works not as amount for what ever in the volumetric node editor for teh surfaces.

:(

so please take a look in that scene.
the joke is that the scene work with octane if you scrub in IPR with full scene reloaded. so i see no reason why octane chrash if you would render it with F 10.

Ok. Thanks for the scene. I'll take a look at it ASAP to see what could be the source of this crash.

Thanks,

Hmm, are you sure that you can render this scene with the LW native engine? Here it crashes as soon as I press F10, without Octane enabled. And even while rendering with Octane the crash is on the LightWave side ...

Thanks,

yes here it works with F 10 for LW native. i show it in a video some days before on FB.

i show it early in the video.(the red colored output is octane volumetrics with cached vdb`s /the blue output is classic Lightwave native render out of the box without cache.)

its spooky :)

btw

if i load the scene with octane volumetrics and use the SDF input i can not use the dirt node. the dirt node work not with the SDF. i show it also in the video.
