Hello,
Does anyone know how to get animated vertex weights to work in the picture viewer when using procedural plugins like Tools4d advanced topology maps or Hot4D?
If you use the vertex map node to mix between two textures in a mix material it seem to work in live viewer but not in picture viewer.

Its almost as though octane needs to be forced to see the updated vertex map generated by plugins.

Many thanks

Hi,
try to pre-bake the vertex map with c4d baking option, and assign the animated sequence to Octane, so there is not extra calc while rendering.

Hello Beppe,

How did you manage to bake Vertex map animation in Cinema4D? I cannot figure out a way to do just that since R19 to R25... Do I have to bake it in Alembic?
Thank you!

Hi,
you can use the Vertex map shader in a simple c4d material, in color channel, then use the c4d Bake material tag to bake the animated sequence:
