I installed the standalone windows version and I can't seem to access the live DV (it doesn't show up next to the 'scene' tab like in the tutorial I'm following)
Can anybody help me?

please, go to Standalone menu Windows/Create log window, then share a complete screenshot of Standalone interface, thanks.
You need to be online to see and access to LiveDB, maybe some internet/firewall settings are blocking the connection.
