How to learn Octane stand alone ?

I'm very new to nodes and rendering. I'm interested in Octane stand alone, but there are very few tutorials I found.
I tried reading the documentation , but like I said I'm very new to this and its confusing. Is there any learning resource or strategy you could recommend ?
Are there any blogs or people I could follow, who show the capabilities of Octane? So far I only found Julien Gauthier's tutorials .
