cant render in 4....but......

i can however render with modo plugin inside modo and also the benchmark octane tool is rendering.

so only the standalone will not produce an image ?

i dont get it !!

i downloaded the screws scene and i cannot get it to do anything....

even a simple OBJ plugged it properly to the render target with a daylight environment and camera will not go !

the gpu statistics dont even start crunching numbers...

i am active and logged in

any thoughts ? same system on all three tests....

Keith, do you have Fermi GPUs (500 or 400 series) by any chance? Fermis are no longer supported in 4.x...

And are you 100% sure that 4 is indeed running in Modo (seemingly 4 but actually 3 somehow)? Are you able to go to About Octane in plugin menu and see "Octane API build 4.00" etc?

As for bench, are you saying you downloaded the new one for version 4?

I'm just guessing here, but if you have been a very casual user (or less) for all these years and have an older GPU, this would kinda make sense, if you somehow missed some install step or something...

well from the info on screen in modo- it does look like its installed as 4.0

and the gpus are 4 x 1080

the bench was the download for 4

also showing my prefs and octane numbers which do not change when I hit PLAY !! the screws scene is loaded with those screen shots !
