Hi, is loading mesh speed in 3d max taboo ?
Each time I ask I don't have any answer. Is there a solution, a workaround, is it a high priority, do we need to leave 3dsmax and switch to another software ?
It would be good to know....

Hi HHbomb,
Octane V4 is not stable, not for production. SDK developers are working and Octane plugin developers have to optimize Octane SDK for each Octane plugin and fixe every issue while Octane SDK is still under development. When users find issues and report it is a great help, but please, never forget Octane 3.08x is only stable version at the moment.
Regards
Paride

For some scenes, loading meshes is longer than rendering time...
It seems to be a high priority, hope someone at Otoy is consciously aware of this.

Hi HHbomb,
render faster than loading meshes it could happen, sometimes this can be normal.
Said that. I tested RC5 now: 32 million poligony (no instances), time loading meshes 53 seconds.
i7 32gb
What about your issue?

I'm familiar with this setting, but can you please explain in details what is the difference between 3 options?
I know only one thing "None" option will bus loading speed if you have a lot of objects. What exactly do others do?
Cheers

Hi Paride, I'm back on this topic
Voxelisation or loading mesh in gpu, I don't know really how it works, but the process isn't multithreaded at the begining, and if it is doable, it could cut by 10 or more loading scene time.
