Greetings to all.
I am trying to create this same effect of degraded transparency for a group of objects, all controlled with nulls in Xpresso.
This is the example:
https://vimeo.com/109315806
The C4D gradient has a linear 3D mode and a "Global" mode.
But I can't do the same with Octane material, neither with an Octane gradient nor with a C4D gradient.
I have found a more sloppy solution which is to apply a linear projection to the group of objects and animate this projection, but, in my case, I try to make the gradient "appear" by covering all the objects of the null and their materials. It doesn't work.
It would be like a gradient effect that paints all the objects of the group (that already have each one their material).
Any idea? thank you!

Hi,
please have a look at this possible solution: It works in a slightly different way, one plane is used to position the gradient, while the other one is used to scale it.
ciao Beppe

Thats a useful rig beppe, TY!
ive been trying for a while to figure out how "break up" the gradient edges with noise, like its possible in the C4D gradient using the turbulent noise. u think its possible with the octane gradient somehow Beppe?
best,
G

Hi,
yes sure, you can use an Add node with the Marble node before the gradient node, with the same projection: ciao Beppe
