Hello guys,
Few years ago, some brigade demo video showed some impressive render times:





With all the progress made with the engine and denoisers, what would those demo look today with new hardware such as RTX?
Brigade, at the time, was what I was the most excited about, and it seems it quite disappeared.

Is Otoy still working on brigade?

Brigade supposedly is integrated in v4.
Headline at Otoy homepage "OctaneRender 4 with Brigade has arrived"

Where do i activate/choose brigade in v4 (what am I missing)???

You can not choose it, it is implemented in octane 4. So for example, loading times of geometry and transforming geo is waaaay faster then octane 3. This is because of integration with brigade.

Faster loading times are nice, but Brigade demos 5 years ago was all about real-time game-like camera, light and asset movement.
The real-time feedback is essential to my workflow, and was the reason why I choose Octane in the first place.

Otoy- can you please clarify the plans for implementing Brigade related to the videos shown in this thread and the v4 release video.

I was sooo exited about v4 and Brigade....v2019.1 then finally Brigade giving birth to RTX, or was it the other way around ;)

Jules, on those occasions when you are able to post breaking news at Twitter and FB, but not on render.otoy.com, could you please delegate this to Win (et al) and have them jump on your FB and Twitter and copy/paste these newsflashes in the DBR section, or some other place we are likely to see it?... As stated before, there are many of us who are, er.. non-social.
