Hi,
Is there any way to set up render passes so there's a composite render and a pass with a render layer and its alpha channel? I'm looking to separate the foreground and background and I would like to avoid rendering twice if I can. I don't want to use object mattes/buffers as I would need to render the alphas for each Info Channel pass.

I've attached examples of the output I'd be seeking.

Thanks! :D

Did you try just enabling the built in save? You should get a 2nd file saved with whatever configuration you setup there.

Thanks for the response!

I did try that. With Render Layer Mask enabled, the built-in save also gets an alpha. I can't seem to get a pass with the background in tact.

I believe you can just remove that alpha in AE/PS so that your background reappears. I do it when I accidentally render with alpha on and just need a flat image.
