As an alternative to rendering lots of Render Layer Masks using Octane Object tags with different IDs (which takes extra time to render). I have set different colours in the object colour box in the tag and selected object layer colour in the render passes.

It works fine with 'resend only updated objects' selected in geometry engine in main. see attached example.

However, my render does not look right. I need to have Resend all scene data (deprecated) selected for my render to look good. But with this selected the object colour ID only shows one of the colours and not the others. see other example.

I cant think why this would be doing this. is there a way round this?

Why do you use a deprecated method? There should be some reasons for making it deprecated as you have now.

This is what I get with the difference between resend all scene (deprecated) and resend only updated object...
Screenshot_6.png
the one on the left (deprecated) looks as it should be, the one on the right the model appears to be missing parts.
Ive been through the scene and simplified it but not sure why this is happening. First frame of the render is ok but then it goes like this.
It is only the first 20 frames of the animation and then its ok again.
Therefore I have worked around it using depracated.
I have rendered the passes separately.
Just curious why this was happening.

Oh, think Ive just solved my problem.

'resend only updated objects' and then have 'force updates' selected in the octane Objects tag. Doh!

all good now
