Hello!
I got a problem getting the correct RenderLayerMask rendered.
In IPR preview the Mask look fine, but after the batch render i realized that the Mask is set to (i believe) RenderLayer1 instead of RenderLayer4
Did I forget something?
To be honest the process of setting the right layers is now very confusing to me.

I confirm the problem, batch render ignores the active renderLayer ID and always render ID 1, this is a bug.danielsiegl wrote: I got a problem getting the correct RenderLayerMask rendered.

Hi Daniel,
Could you please try to insert the specific layer Id in the Batch render layers field and see if it works?
The Batch render layers option is implemented for users wanting to render all the layers and passes with a single batch render command.
Using Fill will find all the Layer ID assigned from the scene.
cheers
Kind Regards

@Bikram,
As I said in previous post, octRenderLayer node is broken with Batch Render, the "active layer ID" is ignored, instead BatchRender always render the render Layer ID 1. This major Bug must be fixed.
Your workaround (adding ID 2 in the "batch r l' field) is rendering layer ID 1 and layer ID 2 (so, not a solution when you want only layer 2 ).
Also about the 'batch render layer" field, the wording is too confusing because it's using Maya legacy feature names for different purpose: the field should be called "multi layer ID" instead.
(this is the same wording issue for the "render setting" section in the "render setting" window
, the section should be called "render target" instead)

Hey there!
Thank you for your help guys!
It works with the settings you provided, but can you explain us why we have to set up Active layer ID and Batch render layers?
What is the advantage of Batch render layer(S)?
BTW.: Do you know if there's any updated documentation on the 3.08 Maya Plug?
Thank you!

For the Batch render layers: Can i also set it to 1,2,3,4 so that layers 1 to 4 get rendered?
