Hi there,

how can I use the Octane Server from Blender in Modo?

I'm asking because Apple actual has no computers with CUDA devices. And I has to buy a new computer.

And I'm asking because Octane brings my Mac to crash (kernel panics). First many fragments appear on the screen (see screenshot) and a little bit later the Mac crashes with a kernel panic.
I would be nice to use only a GPU server for rendering instead of iMacs own GPU.

If the using of an Octane Server is not possible, then it is a feature request. ;-)

OTOY had this planned a while back, but I am not sure if it is still in development. I suggest submitting it to the Feature Request system.

We have this supported in Blender since V3, and internally it is possible to do elsewhere, but held back due to support and the push to get V4 done ASAP. We plan to revisit this after V4 is out and work on this feature getting official support in other plug-ins. We are also working on Metal backend for Mac for the longer term.
