Hey all, not sure if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong. I installed the newest 4.0 version of Octane Render to 3dsmax 2018 and it doesn't recognize my graphics cards. I'm running four 1080's and it works just fine with the previous update. Because it's not identifying the cards, I can't launch the viewport.

I've attached a couple images demonstrating what I mean. The first image is the previous version and the second image is with the new update.

Any ideas what's happening?

Hi wrenthereaper ,
you should update your Nvidia drivers, I I recommend 388.13, or 391.35.
To get an effective Nvidia drivers installed, you could use DDU Nvidia unistaller drivers, the best way to get a clean installation.

Ah, I was worried I may need to update my graphics drivers. I was kind of hoping it was something else. I had to roll back my drivers to a previous version to prevent numerous Blue screens every day. It was apparently an issue nVidia knew about and was actively working on. I'm not sure it's been fixed yet, so I'll look into that.

Thanks!

Hi wrenthereaper ,
Nvidia drivers I mentioned are not the the latest released; they are stable and they do not provide issues and blue screens, or at least nobody has happened this so far..

Yeah I think my situation might be a little unique. Apparently it's the specific combo of an Asus X99E-10G WS motherboard and triple or quad NVIDIA GPU configurations. I had to roll back to 382.53 to prevent blue screens.

Nivida has stated that the watchdog BSOD w/ multi GPU on X99-E 10G WS is now a "blocking issue", which means they cannot release a new driver unless it contains a fix. That statement is about a month old so I'm not sure of the current status of it.

But ok, thanks for your help Paride. I hope this gets figured out sooner than later so I can upgrade to Octane 4

Hi wrenthereaper,
do Nvidia 388.13 not even work for you?
