So I recently finished my graduation project, which was a Nike Vapormax 3D animation.
It was my first approach on this kind of Advertisement so it's far from perfect but i am happy with the result afterall.

The knitting effect was entirely done with octane scatter.
I animatied a mask on the UV texture that drove the opacity channel of the shoes material.
I rendered out a version of only the edge of that same mask.
That one drove the "scale" channel of the octane scatter object.
