Hey all,

So in standalone you can use use the material map node to instance multiple materials over the same piece of geo. When using displacement maps you can achieve multiple layers of detail off one single object in the same network. Never overwriting the last displacement, just adding another iteration of the mesh that pokes through the last (with the right height settings) . Does anybody know how to go about achieving this efficiently in Maya with easy access to each iteration? The standalone node view makes it really easy to control each layer of material, but the maya instance function is making this a sizable pain. Does the plugin have any further instancing ability that'd make this more fluid?

Cheers!

Hi Nickson,

Thank you for the post.
Try ORBX Proxy feature in our new refactored branch Beta version, we should be able to achieve this workflow through Standalone Octane Node Editor but please make sure not to use it for production.
If you have any feedback feel free to let us know.

Cheers
Kind Regards
