Hi, I'm looking to take 2 objects out of Houdini (lets say, a sphere and a cube) and write it out as an alembic and import it into octane standalone. I'm expecting 2 material inputs but I can't make it work. Everything gets imported as one object. Ultimately I want to be able to have inputs for each object and then set up the material IDs.
Let me know if there is something I am missing, perhaps a magic attribute name each separate geometry needs to have out of houdini.

Hi alksndr,
sorry, I’m not an houdini user, but in c4d, we need to assign a polygon selection to the mesh, to have a corresponding material pin in Standalone.
Hope it helps in some way.
ciao Beppe

Hey Bepe, thank you so much! I gave groups a shot because that seems similar to the poly sel sets and it worked! Just need to assign a different group to each separate pin you want to have. Material ID's working and everything. Love it. Thanks again
