Can someone tell me the reason why the amount of VRAM is different in LV and PV? I can't remember nor find some hints here ...
In LV my scene consumes ~3 GB - in PV it takes ~4 GB.

have a look at this document.
Basically it depends from Nurbs or hair different subdivision for Preview = LV, and Final Render = PV.
