the problem is still there. when you asign a material macro to a mesh for example and you previously collapsed all nodes for better overview all nodes expand and you have to collapse them again. this is a bit frustrating
any ideas about fixing this?

Yes I am having the similar issues plus some others. Using 2.45
1. Trees do not remember expansion -Any time I change a material type, or emission type in diffuse materials all the nodes re-expand losing my place.
2. File path - When saving nodes / or loading files, the program does not remember the last folder used.
3. Material editing from tree - When you click on a sub material node of a mesh node from the tree on the left, it will take you to edit the details on the right but then it resets the tree if you change that material type or emission type, as well make it render the material in the test scene instead of the mesh node being active still.
4. Saving material nodes does not remember details - I exported some material nodes by right clicking and saving them, when i brought them back in through a import, it remembered that it was glossy for example but did not bring in any of the other settings, so it doesn't seem like they are saving correctly.
Little things like this are mostly just hassles at this point. Would love to see them fixed. Basically remembering your settings. Program is still great, I am still getting the hang of it but it has saved me a lot of time already.
