Canceling Render/Saving Partial Result

Hey folks, Is there any way to cancel or pause an ongoing render and save out the current result? In the UV/Image Editor the 'save as image' option is greyed out until the render has fully completed. If the octane server app crashes during the render there seems to be no way to export the image. The 'save as image' option remains greyed out.

If you hit the escape key during the render it will stop and you can save.
