Hi all,

I have been searching for the last 5 hours to find some decent documentation or tutorials for a couple of things in Octane, but can't seem to find a good explanation. I would like to know (in common English if possible, I'm a newbie)
the following things:

- What is the W-coordinate node, and a very simple example. I cant' find it in the documentation (maybe I overlooked, but really didn't find anything)
- How does the new baking texture node work? Is this used in a way like the bake camera? Also, if possible a very simple example.
- What is the Uvw transform node and a very simple example.
- Anyone have good tutorials for the new instance color or instance range nodes? I know there are scene files, but I want to know if there are any tutorials out there for this.

Thx in advance and sorry for all the questions!

Grtz,
J

Hi Labrats,
the W Coordinet node is used to control a gradient along the hair:

The easiest way to try the baking texture is with an Octane noise or shader and then in displacement:

In practice, any group of node plugged into a Baking texture node are baked into a 2D texture node:

The uvw transform node is useful for mixing a different transformation other the same texture to remove the tiling effect:
