Hi,

I cannot post this where it would make sense to do it (Commercial support forums) so please mods move this where it belongs.

I just purchased an Octane licence and my problem is that my .ocs files won't open. I load an .obj file to Octane, work on it, save .ocs and close Octane, then restart Octane later and try to open the .ocs file and it says "Unable to open scene file". This happens with all of my own .ocs files that I tried so far except one. What can I do? :?

Can you post your scene files so we can take a look?

Although a lot of work has been done on improving it in recent releases,
it could be due to the scene file containing, or the path the scenefile is located, containing special characters.
Maybe rename your OCS to a simple alphabeting name and place it in c:\ or somethng to test ?

I can send you privately sample ocs files which don't open. I can also send the file which DOES open, if it helps. Can you give me an E mail address where to send or something?

Ouch! That seems to be the problem. You actually cannot have special characters anywhere, meaning path, object names, material names or texture files. Damn Finnish!

Thanks. :D

Are you using the latest version beta 2.46b? With this version you should be able to use special characters for everything - except for the OCS file path.

If you have an OCS file where the above claim is not true, please send it (including the OBJ, MTL and all texture files) to "support (at) refractivesoftware (dot) com".

Thanks,
Marcus
