Hi
I would like to apply displacement to a rod.
Botom cylinder is having artifacts at the ends.
To avoid artifacts and having some of the polys disconnecting from the main mesh i would like to clamp the displacement via a gradient on th ends of the rod. I build the texture in the node editor and if I just project my displacement texture in the diffuse it looks good(top cylinder) but when I connect it in the displacement it deosnt do anything.
Isnt the displacement channel compatible with the multiply node?
Any solutions other than making the texture in AE or PSD?
Because I need to adjust many textures in this project and I would like to do it all in C4D.

Displacement not working with a mulitply node?

Hi,
i think that displacement node does accept only image for source
you can use a Baking texture node between Multiply node and Displacement node...

Where do I find the "Baking texture node"?
I opened one of the files you posted in the forum, and when I try to open it it says "missing Plugin"
Where can I get it? Google doesnt answer me ..
