Hi.
Is there anyway to have fake caustic projected on a pool bottom and all the objects that are on a bottom of the pool. I could use pool bottom animated texture with caustics but then objects on the bottom won't have caustic light. I can only use AO so they have to be fake. I could use another light source just to project caustics on the swimming pool bottom and objects but then water is in the way. Thank you.

Just as an idea, you could bake your caustics and then apply them as an emitter texture to the bottom of your pool.

yes. we would like to project light as a caustics texture but the problem is water in the way and octane cannot exclude objects from being lit.

Basically we want the sun to shine at the pool and then another light source that shines at the bottom of the pool with objects on the bottom only creating caustics but bypassing water calculations. Thank you

Why not using a texture animation on the pool surface? Like this one: https://www.dualheights.se/caustics/ Also free to try.

Scrolling down this page you can click and download sequences: http://www.dgp.toronto.edu/people/stam/ ... cCaustics/

Thank you The problem is we will have objects falling down the pool and moving around then we will end up with pool bottom having caustics and objects not having caustics

You can multiply the animated caustic-sequence on the object as well I guess. Should work.
