Hey Octane team,

I am having trouble with the node interface in Octane Render standalone. When you get a lot of nodes going, the interface starts to lag and this is becoming a real problem for me. It's making work unpleasant.

Since I need a bunch of different viewpoints and sun angles setup for the different viewpoints in my production work, complexity can be managed very well by grouping things and having what I call 'passthrough nodes' to neatly connect things but the interface starts to get bogged down a lot.

I operate the nodes on a 4K screen with i7 7700K at 4.9 GHz, 64 GB and a 1080 Ti. Really it should be running 1000 fps. At least.

Proposed short-term solution

Can we get a bunch of options to cut back on the visual quality of the nodes... because I assume there can be some improvements here? What I'd like is to make the node connections draw in straight A to B lines, instead of the curves going on now (curves are obviously a ton of small connected A to B lines). That'd help a lot!

Examples of what I'm working with:
