Hey guys - I'm trying to texture feathers with flat patterns, somewhat like a peacock feather.

I've got a feather object generating hairs, which initially Octane seemed to render without trouble.

The problems arises when I try and project the texture onto the feather. I can get it to kind of work when I play with the texture projection options, but the texture isn't locked to the feather when I move or clone out the object. I assume it is a problem with the lack of UVs (my understanding of UVs etc is a bit sketchy).

Projecting from a camera works as long as it is a single feather and camera in the same null object. Once I put the null inside a cloner object it seems to fall apart. I've also tried generating splines and putting the whole setup inside a sweep nurb, which works, but quickly gets super heavy.

Any help would be gladly appreciated!
