Everytime I load this mesh which looks fine in other programs, it looks all messed up and triangulated in Octane.

You're likely seeing those artifact due to your kernel's ray epsilon not being set to a proper value for your scene's scale.
Try increasing its value and check again, here you can find more details about this parameter which is present in all kernels.
