Which card will perform better for Octane render??? I can get a 550 TI for 140$ as opposed to 200$ for 460 w 2G of ram.. will it still be better to spend additional 60 bucks for 460 for its extra 1G of ram?? i'm so confused!!
suggestions will be much appreciated!

Hi, the 550 has the same cuda core count but is a little slower, 700 GFlops : 900 GFlops but nobody knows exactly what this means for octane.
You need the Vram for textures and meshes and it is no problem to hit the 1 GB border with big textures (2048 or 4096 pixel).
If you have highpoly modells and/or big textures go for the 460 2 GB, some here go for the 3 GB cards.
I often need to reduce texture sizes or polys with my 896 MB.
Cheers mib
