As the title says, does anyone have a good Octane glass material they could possibly share please (ideally in an example scene so it looks as it should)? :) Looking for realistic looking one with high gloss. Wouldnt mind paying a few $s!

I bought the 'Material Pack for Octane Renderer' from Pixel Lab a while ago but sadly all the glass materials in that are poorly converted and have physically impossible refractive indexes so look awful (I got a refund). The live material selection are usually low res and havent had much luck making one myself unfortunately. So would be good if I had a decent one that I could use as a starting point which I can then tweak to get the desired look.

Also, how do you tell Octane that it is a solid block of glass? For example if I made a cube and applied a glass material to it, then will it treat it as a solid block of glass or just a 'hollow' cube with glass around the edge?

Cheers 8-)

As an aside, does anyone know where I can buy/download any high quality material packs for Octane for C4D? I know its a bit lazy, but they are a good starting point!

did you try any in the LiveDB?
There are some in there, might be enough to get you started.
Live viewer window > Materials > Open LiveDB

I'd like to know of a quality source as well. I know Arrroway textures is rock solid with their bitmap based materials. Especially with their new process of scanning which captures 3D surface and roughness information. They do the best job i've seen at making bitmap textures. Although they only have a few series with this new method. And you still have to load the images into octane material channels.

Im looking for a good source of both procedural and bitmap materials. Must be high quality as my renders need to be completely photo real and mostly close ups. If anyone has suggestions, please post.

Side note: LiveDB textures are nice but usually too low rez and don't tile very well, in my experience.
