This is not a question regarding octane..but a max one..

How do you guys manage your object libraries?
Do u put the maps in the same folder and the max files, or you have another folder where bitmaps are located and then call this folder in the map's paths of the object?
I ask because i can have the same texture assigned to more than one object...so in order to have duplicate textures in the HDD I do the latter..put maps in one folder.

But the problem arrises when for some reason you wanna copy the max file to another pc..i have to hunt down the maps as well, unless i use the archive function ofcourse

Hi
You could save your scene using archive.
3dsMax will create a .zip archive containing all maps, xref etc, with its new relative root path.

Hi Paride,

Yes thats what I wrote in my last paragraph if you see :)...i was just wondering how other fellow artists manage their libraries... if they do it like i do or is there another more logical way i could use to improve my workflow.

Thanks for replying :):)

Hi nildoe,
I think it's the best way.
Otherwise you can use a server or cloud, but you have to keep paths well organized in asset tracking references.
