Hi Guys,

So we've managed to use Octane on one project so far, but after the last one I really want to improve on lighting and how to light a scene for an animation. The deadline made me scatter random lights around parts of the scene to lighten the shots and it was SO messy, this caused inconsistencies between scenes and didn't look great.

It's fine lighting a studio setup as you can move lights till it looks right for that particular shot. But for an animation of course the camera is moving round. The scene we have doesn't have any artificial light source, only sunlight from outside (We are referencing campaign imagery from client). The room just seems so dark and I'm really struggling to get to a more improved setup, which looks good around the whole room, while keeping render times down to a minute and a half per frame/to 2 minutes (720p). Of course we are using the DL kernal, and have tried with ambient occlusion option and the diffuse. AO option looks too plasticty so diffuse works best, but its too dark.

Things I've tried:
Portals in every window entry point, feel like this has zero effect
Extra Lights on the outside to bring more light in
Even tried attaching lights to the camera to lighten where the camera is pointing haha, It looked super weird when animated so that was out the window (Literally  ) And because the camera is seamless (no cuts) it's difficult to light individual shots without it being noticeable.

Setup is so messy right now, I even had to remove ceiling from top arches to try and get more light in. This was in desperation as we were on deadline.

I've including download to the scene file so someone could have a look at my setup..Or even offer guidence on how to setup to improve the lighting.

Would be great to get some advice on this.

Many thanks in advance.
