Is there a way to clone items onto a displaced surface?
For example, lets say you're using a heightmap to displace a plane into a mountain with an Octane material. If you want to clone trees onto that mountain, they'll just clone onto the flat plane, because they don't know about the height of the Octane displacement. So you don't get trees on your mountain, they're just down underneath on the plane.
Any thoughts on this? Thanx.

you can use scatter object with texture on position->shader

Yes you can, but it's gonna increase polycount and you'll always loose some details, and you had to be careful about the displacement value, etc ... but thanks for the tips.RahiSan wrote:Very cool, did not know about that!
Another solution would be to use the cinema 4d displacement modifier on the plane.
