question about a single still scene render in octane. currently have one Titan X pascal and Quadro k5000 in my main machine. if i wanted my still scene to render at double the current speed could i do it by network rendering with a machine with say 1080 Ti's ? am thinking of upgrading cards in my second machine but wondered if this is the way to do it or build a new machine that has 4 cards on the mother board ?

hi there ;)

You current machine with TitanX Pascal + k5000 should have ~200 in OctaneBench. If You add 1080Ti in anoither computer You should cut Your render times in half as out of the box 1080Ti gives around 170 & if overclocked close to 200 in OctaneBench. So yes, having render node with this new card would be good idea, jsut keep in mind You need another licence of OctaneRender standalone in order to leverage network rendering.

thanks again for the reply. think i might just rebuild my second machine with 2 1080ti's.

should i ask the forum for build specs for a 2 1080ti machine to netrender with my first machine with the Titan pascal and K5000 ? Note: i only use the K5000 for display.
