I have hair being controlled by dynamics in Cinema, which looks great in the live viewer and updates. However when I render to picture viewer the hair stays standing.
I've tried object tags with force updates on picture viewer and tried 'all objects moveable' in render settings to no avail.
Any other ideas? Thanks.
PS: Really sorry cannot share scene files as client project
Hair stays static

use caching for hairs.

Ok thanks. Do you mean cache all the dynamics?
Also the texture looks as if it's being projected and sort of stays in place and the hair looks like it's masking an image, doesn't actually stick onto the hair.

Cache in Hair object. I think you set somethings wrong. Any scene to get better help?

Ok I've got permission to post this. So heres the problem.
If you render to say frame 10 you will see the texture doesn't 'stick' to the individual hair strands, it's the same effect as render a mask/alpha and then applying an image, the mask would reveal whichever part the figure is at.
I've used turbulence to vary the hair color..Love the effect it gives but it will not move with the hair.
Thanks in advance for the help.

INo need to check your scene. Because hairs has no uvmapping across strands. You can't stick any textures as turbulence, etc.. without having uv.

Ah so I would have to use an image and stick with uvmapping in order for it to stay with the hair? Is it just common practice to stay with uvmap setting with hair?
If so at least I know not to use any other projection methods when working with hair. I'm assuming the reason box doesn't work is because it re-projects it each frame as if its new object?

It's not possible to use on hairs as in objects. Strands has only roo uvs and it stay same on per strand accross. Only possibility using a gradient with W_Coordinate generator. When you use a procedural with box projection it will not deform by hairs and will stay on same space.
Another note for you, disable Hair Rander on settings. It will slow down the animation rendering. We don't need that to generate/render the hairs.
