My Z-Depth pass is all white.
I guess it's my its distance wich is too short but where to set it ?
I can't find a single word about it in online help.
Where to set the Z-Depth in Max ?

Thanks Paride.
I started a brand new teapot scene for testing.
So now I can see the z-depth channel in the octane viewport (so I guess my former scene has a unit problem).
I then added a z-depth render element.
The rendered result looks exactly the same as in the octane viewport, wich is logical.
But when I change the render element's Z-depth max value nothing changes, the rendered z-depth render exactly the same...
What am I doing wrong ?
(I tried with a Max camera and an octane caméra)

Hi Fabrice,
you have to check "nonlinear tone mapping" in camera OctaneRender setup panel.

OK now the Z-depth passes are ok. Thanks.
But I'm still confuse about the workflow.
With nonlinear checked my render gets washed out.
What does "nonlinear tone mapping" stand for ?
Will I have to rebuild all scene's lighting from scratch ?
(I can't find help in the 3dsmax plugin's documentation as it doesn't even know the word "nonlinear" (!).
And the help regarding the imager is the standalone version's help...)

Hi Fabrice,
Otoy is implementing new documentation about the manuals.
Camera settings in OctaneRender panel setups can be used with 3dsMax camera instead of Octane camera.
About tonemapping and linearworkflow below some links:

@Paride
Why can't we simply see zdepth (with info channel - zdepth value ) in octane viewport selecting "zdepth" in rollout ? So I can use my script to change the max zdepth value ? It is a pain to change every time kernel type to info then back to path tracing,, back to info....

Hi HHbomb,
I will try to know if it can be implemented.
