Hi,
I searched a similar topic but couldnt find it so i hope you guys can help.
I created a scene and played with the VDB Volume. It renders pretty fast in the Octane Live Viewer And work fine but when i try to render using c4D export, it crash.
First i had this message : "Not enought memory" combined with "Octane pluggin crashed" so i cranked the memory up to 26k (it was 4 k) and only have the pluggin error message now.
After some tests to be sure that the problem is about the VDB Volume (and it is), there is one thing i cant figure out : Why it renders in seconds in the Live viewer and cant render using c4D export? I must have missed something.
Spec (So i dont think my machine is the problem)
GTX titan X 12 Gb
32 Gb ram
4.5Ghz core
I stay around if you need some more details, i hope you can help, i love this stuff!!

Do you know what's the meaning of 10x multiplier for Render?

mmh No, sounds like this is my solution ahah. I'll have a look, do you recommend me a specific topic ?
I recommend that read and understand how voxels are handled in memory. See this page.

Thanks for that quick response. I'll check that in the next hour.

my advice to divide your volumes to smalls to avoid out-of-memory issues.Andrea_Philippon wrote:Ok i understand, at least i need to do some testsThanks for that quick response. I'll check that in the next hour.

Thanks a lot! That was my problem, the multiplier was on 10.. so 10*10*10! A bit too much
It's working very well now! Thanks again, i have a lot of fun playing with this
