It would be great to have the "open with" functionality on nodes - for textures (open with PS or any other customized software), for obj (open with any 3D modelling app.)

How would that work though, those are the end result files, not the work files;

- PNG, source file *.XCF from GIMP
- OBJ, source file *.BLEND from Blender

So it would have to open up the source file with X program, not the PNG or OBJ

A user should have an option to choose his custom software to open a file with. Simple.

Something like that or as a 4th icon next to the reload image icon in the node inspector
