hi to all team!

as always your software is INCREDIBLE! so fast render!!!!
i have a question, 2 in fact:

1- what is exactly lamp spectra i can see in DB live?
2- will we see import of light from 3dsmax for example in a coming version to make more artistic lighnting. the emitter object a good but it's not perfect and the rendr is very noisy and long to be clean.

thank you for your answer!

best

The lamp spectra in livedb were made by users, they are quite simple, they use a blackbody temperature (not a measured spectrum)
We are adding IES support and power/efficiency controls to area lights right now, which will be in the next release.

I think i saw a comment on another subject from Radiance a week or so back that the next release would be in a few weeks time.So i guess we're talking around early to mid April if the coding goes to plan and there are no problems :geek: .

Hi,

We are releasing 2.45, a minor update early next week, to go with the new 2.45 demo version,
with IES support and more bugfixes, and some new nodes,
the next major 2.5 release is in development as is still, as said, several weeks off.
Training of our new developer has taken away some resources, but things are starting to roll again now :)

Fantastic :D. I don't want to be ungrateful but it would-be good to have some 3-4 weekly builds in those several weeks till the major 2.5. don't rage

Oh, come on... The current development update cycles are better and shorter than have ever been. Some are never satisfied.. ;)
