All bug reports should include the information below, along with a detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce it.
A. Operating System, including version (i.e. Win 7, OSX 10.11.2, Ubuntu 14.04, etc.)
B. Graphics Card(s) model (i.e. GTX 580 - 3GB, TITAN, etc.)
C. RAM Capacity (i.e. 6 GB)
D. Nvidia driver version (i.e. 7.50, 7.5.22)
E. OctaneRender Standalone version, if installed (i.e. 2.24.2, 2.23, etc.)
F. OctaneRender plugin version (i.e. v2.25 - 2.21)
G. Host application version, including build number if available (i.e. 3ds Max 2016 Build 18.0)
H. A detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce it (Include Screenshots or video capture), as well as an example scene if applicable.
I. Copies of the Octane Log window and Console window outputs (full text attached as a file to your post is recommended).

Just rendering to the PV, went back and edited a material ready for a second render and the PV refreshed itself as if it was the LV...

That a PV render restarted itself while rendering as I made a change to a material in the NE, like the LV does. I believe I unplugged a bump connection and plugged in a dsiplacement shader to the material. Could have been a coincidence but as I did that the PV which was in progress, restarted and began rendering again so all the rendering progress was lost. This is a still not animation.

Never seen that happen before.

It's not making any sense. Can you reproduce and provide a acene or video for details?

I'll try to be clearer: A render, which was in process in the Picture Viewer, (using local and networked devices) and which was probably 1/3rd of the way to looking finished, restarted in the same way that the Live Viewer does when it updates to reflect a change made to the scene. By this I mean it discaded the current render buffer image and proceeded to rerender the image from scratch. No warning given, no 'Are you sure you want to Stop the render?' Cinema dialog box. I did not click the Render to PV button accidentally, all I did was edit one of the materials in the Node Editor while the PV render was taking place.

Short version: the PV behaved as if it was the LV, updating itself to reflect changes made to the scene.

What part don't you understand?

OK. I tried to repeat it and this time the same action (connecting a displacement node to a material) caused a crash. I will attach the scene and bug report, if it got saved.

Thanks for scene and explanation! I theory you cannot open/edit in Octane settings, node editor, etc.. which are causing revisions on Octane Scene. Because plugin just creates one scenegraph for Octane. And it's not safe to edit while rendering. I don't know how you could edit in node editor.

Its funny you should say that, as this may be related to another issue I've been grappling with. A scene was continually crashing and I had issues with nodes disappearing from the graph or the LV not updating when making NE changes. So I created a new scene and merged objects into it - I selected a material and happened to moved a node and discovered a complete duplicate set of nodes underneath in NE!

I will send a copy of this scene as well, but its very heavy (CAD data).

Regarding the NE, I have it docked to the interface so its always open - it's essential for workflow. I know that normally you don't get updates to the previews or edit parameters, but you certainly can make and unmake connections, add nodes etc. This can be useful for productivity as you don't want to be wasting time while a test render is in progress.

I think you've maked editing on NE which has some nodes before render started. I'll completely disable it on render sessions

OK great.

Can you also check the other scene I sent as well please, of shall I start another thread for it? Scene was crashing constantly and seemed to have duplicated nodes.
