I am trying to render an earth globe. I can do it perfectly using the C4D native render but im struggling with octane. What i want is to get a falloff effect where I can see a night and day effect depending on where the light illuminate. I have 2 different textures, day and night but I dont know how to put them together. This is something similar to what I want to do.

Hi technologeeezus,
nice tutorial and nice textures, here is a possible fast reinterpretation with c4dOctane shaders only:

Hi,
try with this diiferent version, this time the Mix Material Amount is driven by the Dirt node, that react to a semisphere hidden to camera and shadow, and parented with the light:

Thanks Ill check it out. I actually ended up just tweaking the falloff material settings. But Im sure your method is the way to do it.

THANKS!
