HTC Vive - cable lenght?

sorry - might be an off topic questions but....

i guess some of you does have the htc vive - and i wonder how near does the computer need to be to the place where you stand?

There is no technical relation between the PC and the Glasses or where you stand.
You just connect the cable adapter to the PC and the Glasses to the adapter and that's all.

The functionality depends on the distance and configuration of the motion sensors in the room.
Keep in mind that HTC is releasing a wireless adapter the following months.

so how long is the adapter cable?

my computer is at my table, but the room for using VR is about 5x5m, but it is about 5m from table - do you think that could work?

moving my seat is not an option - right now :-/
